How to choose my first pipe?<\/p><\/div>\n

At last you’ve decided that you’re going to buy your first pipe<\/strong>. Perfect, now you just have to choose among the wide variety of shapes, materials and prices on the market. We give you some advices.<\/h4>\n

The form<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is very important that you feel comfortable with the shape<\/strong> of your pipe. \u00bfCurved or straight? With a wide or narrow head? In principle its just a matter of tastes. However, be carefull some people are more comfortable smoking with a straight pipe while others are not. In addition to find the correct pipe, the shape of the pipe should result comfortable for smoking, the way you smoke should make you feel natural.<\/p>\n

Another aspect to consider is that it is well made<\/strong>: the parts fit well<\/strong> and are aligned, the filters<\/strong> are preferably non-metallic material, which has no marks or irregularities<\/strong>, that it has the right weight<\/strong>,…<\/p>\n

Tip on carved pipes<\/strong>: Carved pipes are very nice, but if you do not apply extra care and cleaning to them regularly, they get dirty and loose their attractiveness.<\/p>\n

The materials<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today most of the pipes, whether handmade or in series, are manufactured in Briar wood<\/strong>. It is very durable and resistant to heat also the color and grain makes it very attractive. Also, you can find many other woods.<\/p>\n

Another material that you see often (especially in carved and with many details pipes) is Meerschaum<\/strong>, a white mineral that with time and use darkens. It is less resistant but more\u00a0 attractive.<\/p>\n

You can also find white clay<\/strong> pipes. Be careful because there are cheaper versions made of porcelain that are more fragile and leave a foul taste in the tabacco.<\/p>\n

And a more organic option is corn<\/strong>. These pipes are manufactured from cobs grown specifically for this purpose. These tend to be cheaper and less durable.<\/p>\n

Prices<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you go to buy your pipe you’ll notice a very wide price range<\/strong>. From pipes priced at 20 \u20ac to over 500 \u20ac or even 1000 \u20ac. In addition, there are pipes brands most renowned than others. Is it better for a more expensive pipe?<\/strong> Not necessarily. If a pipe is not well done or the material is poor (as explained above) an expensive pipe isnt a good pipe. Should my first pipe be cheap (just in case I dont like it)?<\/strong> No. It’s okay to look for a pipe in your price range, but do not look just the price. Like we said before, look at the shape and material. Maybe for a few euros more you have a much better pipe.<\/p>\n
