Its origin is difficult to establish and is impossible to determine which was the first hookah in the history. There are texts from the Sixteenth Century that refer to the use of this invention in the Persian Empire. Since then it seems to have been introduced in India where it became a popular subject among the noblemen, who believed it was better for the health than smoking tobacco without filtering the smoke through water. Thereafter, he became known throughout the East and later to the rest of the world and now it has became an everyday object for many.
Although there were many Eastern countries that tried to wage war against tobacco, its use did not stop spreading. In streets and in squares you could see people, both men and women, enjoying a chat and a shisha. Cafes also began to appear where smoking was allowed with a shisha and its production was perfected. They used the best materials and manufacturing became an art.
Before these more or less modern uses, it is believed that the first shishas were much cruder and used coconuts and bamboo to smoke a mass of honey and molasses flavored with other products (the shisha).
