Tubbed cigarettes, an alternative to the classic cigarette has gained quite a bit of popularity in the recent years.
In specialized shops you can find both tubbing machines as well as the tubes to fill. When filling the tubes with the machine (either manually or automatically) the appearance is that of a normal cigarette but it can work out lower in price.
How do I get it?
The first thing you have to do is get a tubbing machine and a box of empty tubes. For our example today we have chosen a manual tubbing machine and just normal tubes.
Don’t forget that the tobacco that you use must be hybrid or expanded. As explained in our post “Types of rolling tabacco” some types of tabacco are not recommended to use with a tubbing machine.
Step 1: Loading
Open the tubbing machine and introduce a small amount of tobacco in the empty space. It’s not recommended that you use a lot of tobacco as it will be very hard pressed and dificult to smoke. Like everything else, the experience will tell you how much is ideal.
Step 2: Pressing
Use the press to shape the tobacco so you dont have any leftover tobacco outside the space. When well pressed, place the tube in the nozzle of the machine. Watch out that the paper tube doesn’t bend and make sure its well fitted in the nozzle.
Step 3: Slide
When you have everything ready, close the lid of the machine and pressing the top half down, slide the machine back until it stops so that the tube is filled with tobacco.
Remove carefully the cigarette so that the paper doesn’t brake or tobacco doesn’t fall out.
And you have your cased cigarette just like a cigarette pack. If it’s not perfect at first, do not be discouraged, the practice will lead to perfection.
